Emily's Birthday Party

Today Lily went to her first kids' birthday party...the first of many, I'm sure! Lily was amazed by all of the kids and the activity. She even squeezed in a little time with Omi and Papa! It was a good afternoon, and little Emily's first birthday was a success.

New Stuff

Lily has outgrown her 3-6 month clothes, particularly her sleepers, and is now into 6 and even 9 month clothes. So, she and I spent an afternoon sorting through clothes-- assigning some to the hand-me-down box, and pulling out some of her darling new outfits. Meanwhile, Lily practiced turning over on her tummy, and especially liked eating the basket for her clothes.

Lily has been spending time with folks from church this week...and, of course, we go along to accompany her. :) On Thursday, we had dinner at Gigi and Lewis' house; Gigi fed "Cupcake" her bottle and we all had a lovely time.

On Friday we had lunch with two dear ladies who spent many years at First Pres: Helen (whom we are to call Ladybug) and Bobbie Ann (who asked us to call her Ban, a childhood nickname). We certainly felt on the inner circle calling these lovely ladies by their nicknames. Lily was the star of the show in the nursing home's dining hall, and she was a very good girl.

Goodbye, Mountain Market!

Our little Mountain Market burned to the ground last week. No more walking to the market, at least not until they rebuild! It's only three blocks away but we didn't hear anything. Then again, neither did our friends the Wallaces, and they only lived four doors down.

Meeting Great-Grandpa

What a joy to have Joel's grandpa make the trek from Wisconsin with Uncle Ed for ordination! It was a precious thing to have Lily meet her great-grandpa for the first time.

What an amazing day...the culmination of a long road, and a true testament to God's faithfulness. It was also a wonderful time to be together with family and friends. Thanks to all who helped us celebrate the big day!

This morning the sun was coming in through the windows, and it was so amazing to have a room full of furniture where there was formerly one IKEA sofa! :) Can't wait for you all to come try it out in person!

See Rock City!

Today we can finally say that we have "Seen Rock City!" Only two blocks from our house, it was a must-do. We now have locals' three-year passes, so I see a lot of wandering around the beautiful paths of Rock City in our future. Click below to check out our fun adventure!
