Christmas Gliders!

Every Christmas we awaken to find balsa wood gliders in our Christmas stockings, and this year was no exception. We spent a little time yesterday flying them in the cul-de-sac. First, we put them together... Posted by Picasa

Beautiful Santa Barbara

Joel and I spent Christmas in Santa Barbara with my family. On Monday, we went for a walk with my folks along the beautiful breakwater. . . the waves were perfect and the surfers were happy. I even ran into some old friends. It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon! Posted by Picasa
Yeah...it was a little bright! Posted by Picasa

Mary and Louis worked with my youth group in high school. I love these guys, and it was a treat to run into them. Posted by Picasa
We liked watching the surfers catch the huge waves! Posted by Picasa
The boys enjoyed a little cigar in the backyard at the end of the day. Posted by Picasa

Before Christmas Eve service, Joel and I went to dinner with mom, dad, Kari and Toby at the Beachside. There was a gorgeous sunset!  Posted by Picasa

Joel and I headed up to Santa Barbara a few days early to spend time with mom and dad. On Thursday we met dad at the courthouse and headed off for lunch. I love the beautiful spiral staircase; this was where Joel and I met for pictures on the day of our wedding!  Posted by Picasa
The Santa Barbara Courthouse has many interesting architectural details. Posted by Picasa
There are also beautiful flowers! Posted by Picasa
We had lunch at elements, right across from the courthouse. Posted by Picasa

At about 72 degrees, it was a perfect day to have lunch on the porch! Posted by Picasa
Next, a little photo op in front of the courthouse before dad headed inside. Posted by Picasa
Kari arrived Friday from Boise. Before her flight arrived, Joel and I headed down to Goleta beach to collect shells and go for a walk. Posted by Picasa
