Celebrations!

We all met up at Alcapulco on Wednesday for a little more celebrating before Kari and Kristi headed home. Dad received some great BBQ gadgets for Father's Day, and we all had fun sitting around watching the turtles in the fountain vie for space on the rocks. Yesterday I had a fun birthday, with lunch at Nordstrom Cafe overlooking beautiful Paseo Nuevo, followed by shopping with mom. From start to finish, I had a fabulous day...thank you to all who sent warm wishes my way! :)

Sunday Afternoon

After a very busy weekend, it was nice to take some time Sunday afternoon to hang out with friends. We celebrated Toby's birthday, and then spent some time with Kristy and James and their baby Trevor. Fun!

 

Christ Presbyterian Church Ojai

We had our first Sunday in Ojai, and enjoyed worshipping with this lovely congregation. Joel's sermon was well-received, and I am learning so much from his study of Ruth and the things God has laid on his heart. (You can listen to Joel's summer sermons here. Just click on the "Sermons" tab.) It was a good morning, and we're looking forward to worshipping there again in a few weeks.

The Beautiful Wedding

Our sweet cousin Shannon married Sean on Saturday in a beautiful ceremony at First Presbyterian. What a joyful day! 

 

 

Uncle Bob gave a wonderful toast, and the whole reception was beautiful. We even met Jeannie, a dear friend of Aunt Judy in Boise. What a small world!


 

Prizes for Marigold!

What fun we had with the Harley clan! There were some beautiful outfits for little Marigold, and we all had a great time oo-ing and ah-ing over the frilly pink things.



 

Shannon and a couple of members of her wedding party stopped by to say hi. We can't wait for the big day! 

Gladiolas!

My dear Aunt Judy asked me to post pictures of my latest art work. I have painted a series of pictures of gladiolas from my mom's garden. Now they hang in the guest room, with a cloud of gladiolas growing outside the window! Having time to paint every morning is sheer heaven.
 

Joel and I are very happily settled in at mom and dad's for the summer as Joel interns at CPC. We love sitting by the fountain in the late afternoon reading our books or chatting. We had a BBQ for Father's Day, and gave dad a sweatshirt from Westminster. Dad broke out the binoculars so we could watch all of the birds; some of the finches even come close to play in their own bubbling birdbath!
