Christmas in Lookout

On December 20, Joel and I woke up in Lookout Mountain to chillier weather and lots of Christmas festivity! Joel met with some of the people from church while I enjoyed some Starbucks courtesy of my sixth graders. Downtown Chattanooga looked so beautiful with all of the snowflake lights. Then Rachel, Orlando and Canon arrived, and the party started picking up even more. The guys split firewood, Canon got busy with Joel's childhood trucks, and we all had a good time.

One pre-Christmas highlight was spending time with our good friends Liz and Clay. It was so good to catch up and to dream about the future with these partners in ministry!

Joel and Canon spent many happy hours searching the house for the "Pizza Man", a character created by Joel in one of Canon's construction books. Inside, outside, with sticks, with the Indiana Jones hat...big adventures!

The boys also spent some good time outside playing football...fun!

It was great to see our friends from First Presbyterian on Christmas Eve, and to see Liz and Clay again. Little Isaac has gotten so big! On the way home, Canon got caught up on his cell phone calls.

After a wonderful morning service, we headed home for a relaxed afternoon. Canon opened one early present, and looked darling in his Christmas outfit. Later, we all went off to the candlelit Christmas Eve service at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian. It was beautiful!

After the Christmas Eve service, we had a delicious supper of barbecued chicken sandwiches and soup. After dinner, Joel entertained Canon with stories of the giant flying snake that lives in the attic (the silver heating duct), and soon it was time for presents!!

Our little elf Canon loved helping everyone open presents!

There were lots of fun surprises for everyone!

Then it came time to assemble Canon's presents. Soon the construction workers from the portable construction site were finding extra excitement on the "Shake and Go" race track!

On Christmas Day, it was good to see Joel's Aunt Karen and cousin William. We even got in a couple of games of marbles! Posted by Picasa
